DRILLS AND DRILL BITS

An auger bit includes a rotating helical screw blade called a "flighting" to act as a screw conveyor to remove the drilled out material. The rotation of the blade causes the material to move out of the hole being drilled. Cost is $20-30 for a set. To use, twist the end of the electric or hand drill that is being used to open up the slot for the drill bit. Insert the drill bit and lock it in. When drilling, keep the drill in a steady line. Drill straight and pull out straight as well.

Used to drill wood circles. They are special because of the points at the tip. They can also be called Dowel bits. Cost is $15-25 for a set. To use, simply insert into drill and lock it in. Drill in a straight line and pull straight out.

Used to tighten drill bits on older non electric bits. You stick the in through the top to hold it still and can drill using just the two items. Cost is $5-10. To use, use the four sided piece to tighten or loosen drill bits. Turn the top of the black holster to drill into a wall.

Cuts holes into different surfaces. The farther you push this bit in the bigger the hole and the more force required. Its shape is formed in a unique way that gives it the name Countersink. Cost is 5-20$ per set. Use it as you would any drill bit, insert into drill and drill straight.

It’s a drill that you use only your body to power. No gears or anything. Just push and turn. Cost range is 5-20$ To use, put in your drill bit and crank it in one direction until your hole is made.
