Description: Tinner hammers are sharpened cross-peen can complete a folded seam or set a rolled edge. Used for: Completing folded seams, or setting rolled edges. Price Range: $20-35 Weight: 12-18 oz.

Description: This hammer has a wooden handle, while the head is made of metal with a rawhide facing. The rawhide causes the hammer head to strike with a much lighter impact. Although it is not one of the more commonly used mallets, the rawhide hammer is extremely handy for certain applications. Used for: Tool & die shops, foundry, gas & oil refineries, marine, steel rule die, electric motor, jewelry. Price Range: $15-25 Weight: 5-13 oz.

Description: A Stonemason's hammer, also known as a Brick Hammer, has one flat traditional face and a short or long chisel-shaped blade. Used for: Chipping off edges or small pieces of stone, cut brick or a concrete masonry unit, without using a separate chisel. Price Range: $10-20 Weight: 16-20 oz.

Description: Various types are available, with hard and soft rubber, plastic or copper faces. Some come with a choice of faces which are interchangeable. They excel at heavy chisel work, where both power and precision are required. The flat faces provide you with accuracy, while the heft provides power.
