Brief Description of Tool:They usually have two metal “claws” to remove battery terminals, and a handle of some sort. When do you use it: When you need to remove stuck battery terminals or bolted-on windshield wiper arms, or to remove a battery cable clamp from the post without causing damage to the battery. Picture of Tool: there are lots of different kinds. Not all look the same. Brief Description of Tool:There are many different designs. Most have 2-3 metal screws to put into the flywheel. When do you use it?You use it when you need to take off a flywheel. Cost: Anywhere from 9-20 dollars

Brief Description of Tool:A metal cylinder with metal rings around it. There are different kinds of piston ring compressors, the funnel piston ring compressor, with pliers on the end, and with a wind-up lever. When do you use it? You use a piston ring compressor when you need to install a piston into your car’s engine. Cost: $10-$22 depending on size

Brief Description of Tool:Two handles, and two usually circular metal parts, Or two arms, for expanding a piston ring. When do you use it? You use it when you need to remove or attach a piston ring. How do you use it: Squeeze the handles so the metal parts are attached to the piston ring, then either apply the piston ring to the piston or remove it. Cost:Ranging from 7-20 dollars depending on size

Brief Description of Tool:It has two hooks on the end and two handles. When you push the handles together, the hooks get closer together. If you pull the handles apart, the hooks will grow farther apart. When do you use it? You use it when you want to remove a primer bulb. Cost: $55

Brief Description of Tool:It has a lever on one end. It also looks like a c-clamp. You turn the stick on the end opposite of the lever to make the space between the inside ends of the tool get smaller. When do you use it? You use it when you need to remove/install overhead valve springs without taking out the cylinder head on cars. Cost: !7-18$
