This tool has a set of jaws that can be adjusted to fit different size objects. It is mistaken for a wrench for inexperienced people. Older models tend to slip open but newer ones are spring loaded. Cost: Around $10 each

These pliers come in three types, the side cutter, diagonal cutter, and heavy duty cutters. They are also known as wire cutters. Bigger versions are known as bolt cutters as they have the ability to cut bolts and chains. These pliers were meant to cut wires along with removing small nails. Cost:$6-$150 Do NOT try to cut bolts unless you are using a bolt cutter.

These strange set of pliers have two wire cutters and are equipped with a heavy head.This tool was meant to pull staples from fences. Unlike all the other pliers, these CAN be used as a hammer. Do not use other types of pliers as hammers. Cost:Around $25

This tool is a combination of lineman’s pliers and channel pliers as it can be adjusted to fit multiple objects.They are generally used for gripping objects. Cost:$7-$50

These pliers are meant to strip back the insulation on wires. The wire is put against the jaws, not inside them. Cost:Around $10

These pliers weren’t meant to cut anything. These pliers were meant instead to crimp/flatten the connections between wires. Some of them also double as a wire stripper. Cost:Around $20-$40
